About
ProseFlow — Lubara Labs
What this is
ProseFlow is a writing studio for long-form work. It is built for novelists, screenwriters, web fiction writers, anyone who needs to sit down with something large and difficult and stay with it.
There's no feed, no streak counter, no word goal that changes color when you're behind. These aren't things we forgot. They're things we decided not to build.
Why we built it
Most writing software treats a draft like a task to be completed. There are progress bars, daily targets, reminders about how many days since your last session. You open the app and you're already behind on something.
That's a design choice, not an accident. A lot of these tools were built for people who want to be more productive at writing. That's a reasonable goal. It's just not the one we were trying to serve.
We had a different kind of writer in mind. The one working through something difficult and slow, who doesn't need a system to manage their output, who needs a place that will hold their work without making it feel like it's failing.
We built ProseFlow because the novelist working at two in the morning deserves a tool that understands the weight of what they are trying to do. Because the writer drafting on a commute deserves the same dignity as someone in a quiet study. Because the middle of the process, the part that is uncertain and unglamorous and necessary, deserves a space that doesn't make it harder.
The other part of this was privacy. Your writing doesn't leave your device. Not as a setting, but as how the system actually works. We built it that way because we didn't want to be in the position of promising not to do something we could theoretically do anyway.
What guides us
Silence is fine. There are no notifications, no "you haven't written in a while" emails, no suggestions appearing while you're mid-sentence. The app waits. We think that's what a writing tool should do.
Unfinished work has dignity. A half-formed sentence is not a failure. A draft abandoned at chapter four is not wasted time. We built this for the middle of the process, the part most tools ignore because it cannot be photographed or measured. Your fragments matter here.
A tool should disappear. When ProseFlow is working well, you are not thinking about ProseFlow. You are thinking about the sentence, the scene, the word that is hovering just out of reach. Our job is to get out of the way and to stay out of the way.
A Note on Who Made This
ProseFlow is made by Lubara Labs, a small team that plans to stay small. We believe a writing tool should outlast its funding round. We believe the business should follow the writer, not lead them somewhere more convenient for us.
The core of ProseFlow is free and will stay free. Writing should not require a subscription. A writer with nothing but a browser and an idea can sit down and begin, and that experience is complete in itself.
If you are a writer looking for a place for your work, we built this for you. The door is open.
